SHAH ALAM, 12 February 2020 – In line with its commitment towards being a responsible business entity, Gas Malaysia Berhad (“Gas Malaysia”), a member of MMC Group, recently visited children warded at Hospital Shah Alam’s Paediatric ward. This Corporate Social Responsibility (“CSR”) initiative was organised in conjunction with the Chinese New Year celebration, with an aim to spread cheer among the warded children and also to appreciate the doctors as well as nurses for their commitment in caring for the sick children.
This CSR initiative was led by the Group Chief Executive Officer of Gas Malaysia, Encik Ahmad Hashimi Abdul Manap together with the Management team. Items contributed were children’s coloring book, stationary set, Chinese New Year gift hampers and Ang Pow.
A panel of doctors were also present to receive and welcome the Gas Malaysia team, led by the Director of Hospital Shah Alam, Dr. Ruzita binti Othman and Head of the Pediatric Department, Dr. Nur Rashidah binti Mohd Zaini.
During the CSR event, Encik Ahmad Hashimi remarked, “Running a sustainable business is not merely about making profit, but it is also a platform for corporate entities to find a way to contribute back to the deprived members of community. And personally, I was excited to execute this CSR initiative with the children from Hospital Shah Alam.”
“Living in a country that celebrates its diversity, this CSR initiative is more meaningful as it is conducted in conjunction with Chinese New Year. Moving forward, we hope to embark on more CSR initiatives aimed at supporting the vast spectrum of underprivileged communities,” he concluded.
