

KUALA LUMPUR, 17 May 2024 – In keeping with the spirit of social responsibility, Gas Malaysia Berhad (“Gas Malaysia”), a member of MMC Group, has forged a partnership with the Malaysian Congenital Heart Foundation and Pantai Hospital Kuala Lumpur. This collaborative effort aims to extend a helping hand to two young children, aged 2 and 4 years old, who are battling with congenital heart conditions.
As part of this initiative, Gas Malaysia has generously contributed RM50,000 to cover the surgical costs for both children. This financial assistance is intended to alleviate the economic burden on their families, who are experiencing financial difficulties. Through this partnership, Gas Malaysia, alongside its collaborating partners, seeks to provide vital medical assistance and support to these young patients, offering them hope and a brighter future. This initiative reflects Gas Malaysia’s commitment towards corporate citizenship and addressing the critical needs of the community it serves.
The cheque handover ceremony took place at Pantai Hospital Kuala Lumpur and it was led by Gas Malaysia’s Group Chief Executive Officer, En. Ahmad Hashimi Abdul Manap. The ceremony was also graced with representatives from Malaysian Congenital Heart Foundation including Datuk Dr Hamdan bin Leman, the Founder and Chairman, Datuk Puteh Rukiah binti Abdul Majid, Trustee and Mr. Eric Tan Chin Zhia, the Chief Executive Officer. Additionally, Pantai Hospital Kuala Lumpur was represented by Ms Erica Lam, the Chief Executive Officer and Mr. Kwan Choon Yoong, the Chief Operating Officer, demonstrating their collective commitment in supporting this noble cause.
In his remarks during the cheque handover ceremony, the Group Chief Executive Officer of Gas Malaysia, En. Ahmad Hashimi Abdul Manap emphasised on the company’s longstanding commitment to community service, “With a firm footing in the business front for over three decades now, Gas Malaysia has consistently prioritised in giving back to the communities we serve. We take pride in extending a helping hand to those in need.”
This initiative serves as a token of appreciation to the community, coinciding with Gas Malaysia’s 32nd anniversary, which was celebrated recently on 16th May. It as an opportune moment for Gas Malaysia to express its gratitude to the community that has been integral to its growth trajectory.
Gas Malaysia has also partnered with the Malaysian Congenital Heart Foundation in the preceding year, to assist children facing similar congenital heart conditions. This ongoing initiative reflects the company’s pledge towards making a meaningful and sustained impact on the lives of those in need.
