Gas Malaysia Issues Update on Widened Curtailment Areas

SHAH ALAM, 7 APRIL 2025 – Gas Malaysia Berhad (“Gas Malaysia” or “the Group”), a member of the MMC Group, wishes to update that it has received a subsequent notification from the gas supplier regarding the ongoing curtailment resulting from the recent untoward incident in Putra Heights.

While the previously announced curtailment period remains unchanged and is still expected to continue until 20 April 2025, Gas Malaysia has been informed the new areas and additional new customers will be affected due to operational limitations stemming from the incident. As a result, gas supply curtailment is expected to be widen to additional areas such as Merbau, Tronoh, Perai, Junjung and Hutan Melintang, thereby impacting more customers.

In view of this new development, the Group has intensified its coordination efforts with both the impacted customers and the gas supplier, working closely to manage the situation effectively. Gas Malaysia remains committed to providing support and timely updates to all parties experiencing service disruption. Mitigating customer impact, ensuring public safety and upholding service integrity remain Gas Malaysia’s key priorities throughout this period.

Gas Malaysia Berhad, a member of MMC Corporation Berhad, was established on 16 May 1992 to sell, market and distribute natural gas as well as to construct, operate and maintain the Natural Gas Distribution System (“NGDS”) within Peninsular Malaysia.
