Gas Malaysia Extends a Helping Hand to the Needy This Ramadan

KUALA LUMPUR, 20 MARCH 2025 – In keeping with the spirit of giving during Ramadan, Gas Malaysia Berhad (Gas Malaysia), a member of MMC Group, conducted a social responsibility initiative by distributing essential provisions, including rice, granulated sugar, cooking oil, spices and other items to needy recipients from Program Perumahan Rakyat (PPR) Kerinchi. This annual initiative under the MMC Prihatin programme aims to alleviate the burden of the needy while spreading joy during the holy month of Ramadan.

The handover ceremony was held at PPR Kerinchi’s multipurpose hall and was attended by the Senior Management of Gas Malaysia along with representatives from Kuala Lumpur City Hall and Pusat Pungutan Zakat – MAIWP. The event was also graced by the presence of En. Izhar Yusof, Political Secretary to the Minister of Communication. This initiative benefited about 250 needy families, reinforcing Gas Malaysia’s steadfast commitment to social responsibility and community well-being.

The President and Group Chief Executive Officer of Gas Malaysia, En. Ahmad Hashimi Abdul Manap shared, “Our engagement with the wider community, particularly in giving back to society, aligns closely with one of our four CSR pillars – Education, Environment, Community, and Sports. As we embrace the spirit of Ramadan, it is only fitting that we extend our support to the less fortunate and make meaningful contributions to ease their burden.”

“As we progress ahead, we believe that true progress is measured not just by business growth, but by the positive difference we make in people’s lives. Through this initiative, we hope to foster stronger community bonds and inspire others to extend their support to those in need,” he concluded.
