Nourishing Lives, Building Bonds – Gas Malaysia Continues Food Aid Efforts for the Homeless & Urban Poor

SHAH ALAM, 25 SEPTEMBER 2025 – In a continued effort to uplift the underserved communities, Gas Malaysia Berhad (Gas Malaysia), a member of the MMC Group, distributed over 650 packed meals across three sessions to the homeless and urban poor at the Medan Tuanku Transit Centre, Kuala Lumpur. This initiative is part of the company’s broader Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme focused on community welfare.

Gas Malaysia’s President & Group Chief Executive Officer, En. Ahmad Hashimi Abdul Manap expressed his thoughts, “Our CSR initiatives are driven by a deep sense of responsibility to support the communities in need. By collaborating with Pertubuhan Tindakan Wanita Islam (PERTIWI), we aim to provide meaningful assistance and reaffirm our commitment towards the local community.”

The food aid distribution, organised in collaboration with PERTIWI for the third consecutive year, reflects the ongoing partnership between both parties in addressing food insecurity among the underserved urban communities. The programme, which began with the first session on 15 August and continued with the second on 3 September, concluded with yesterday evening’s event, strengthened by the active participation of Gas Malaysia employees.
