SHAH ALAM, 2 JULY 2025 – Gas Malaysia Berhad (“Gas Malaysia” or “the Group”), a member of the MMC Group is pleased to announce that on 1 July 2025, it received an official confirmation from its gas supplier on the lifting of gas curtailment at Shah Alam and Batu Tiga City Gate stations, which had been imposed following the transmission pipeline fire incident at Putra Heights, Subang Jaya, Selangor.
With this confirmation, gas supply has resumed in accordance with the quantities stipulated in the Gas Supply Agreements with customers. This achievement reflects the concerted efforts and close collaboration with all relevant stakeholders to ensure the safe delivery of gas.
The Group places utmost importance on safety and will continue to uphold stringent operational standards to ensure that gas infrastructure development is carried out responsibly. Gas Malaysia’s pipeline network is a natural gas distribution system designed to safely deliver natural gas to end users across multiple sectors. Operating at lower pressures and on a smaller scale than transmission pipelines, these pipelines are typically laid within road reserve areas, ensuring both accessibility and full compliance with regulatory standards.
In line with its commitment to the safe and reliable delivery of gas, the Group also urges members of the public to remain vigilant and refrain from any activity that may compromise the safety of its gas pipelines, including unauthorised excavation work, open burning, placing obstructions along gas pipeline routes and related activities. Visible signboards and markers have been strategically placed along Gas Malaysia’s pipeline pathways to alert both the general public as well as contractors about the presence of gas pipelines.
In this regard, the Group would also like to express its sincere appreciation to all stakeholders, including its gas supplier, valued customers and related parties for their continued support, patience and cooperation throughout this curtailment period.
