SHAH ALAM, 21 March 2024 – – In keeping with the spirit of giving during Ramadan, Gas Malaysia Berhad (Gas Malaysia), a member of MMC Group, conducted a social responsibility initiative by distributing essential provisions, including rice, granulated sugar, cooking oil, spices and other items to needy recipients. This annual initiative under the MMC Prihatin programme is an effort to ease the burden of the needy and spread joy during the holy month of Ramadan.
The handover ceremony took place at Masjid Al Faizin, Seksyen 28, Taman Alam Megah, Shah Alam, and it was led by Gas Malaysia Group Chief Executive Officer, En. Ahmad Hashimi Abdul Manap. The ceremony was also graced with the presence of Puan Marianie Abdul Rahman from District Office, En. Muhamad Sharil Ritin from Lembaga Zakat Selangor and En. Abd Malek Abd. Rashid, Ketua Kampung, Kampung Baru Hicom. In total, about 250 needy families benefitted from this initiative, highlighting Gas Malaysia’s unwavering commitment to the welfare of the community it serves.
In his remarks during the handover ceremony, the Group Chief Executive Officer of Gas Malaysia, En. Ahmad Hashimi Abdul Manap said, “As a caring corporate citizen, we believe in the principle of giving back to society, particularly to those in need. Initiative like this, embodies Gas Malaysia’s dedication to relieve the burdens faced by the less fortunate, especially during the holy month of Ramadan.”
