Gas Malaysia Showcases CHP Technology To Media And Analysts

Gas Malaysia is committed to advancing its position in innovative energy solutions through its Combined Heat and Power (CHP) technology, which generates both electricity and heat from a single fuel source. This technology, led by Gas Malaysia Energy Advance Sdn. Bhd. (GMEA) benefits industrial customers needing electricity and thermal energy, such as steam or hot water.

GMEA’s three plants produce 41.7 MW of electricity, 165 tph of steam, and 1,684 kW of hot water, potentially reducing 72,261 tonnes of CO2 annually. Recently, Gas Malaysia organised a visit to their CHP plants in Seberang Prai, Penang, for media and analysts to demonstrate the efficiency and environmental benefits of the CHP system. This initiative aligns with our GM32 strategy for sustainable growth and environmental responsibility.
