The Concept of CHP

CHP or Co-generation, is an innovative energy production method that generates both electricity and usable thermal energy concurrently from a single fuel source. Unlike traditional electricity generation methods that waste significant amounts of heat, CHP integrates the production of heat and power into a single, highly efficient process.

The System of CHP

The four basic elements that exist in a CHP Plant: –

1. A Prime Mover (Engine)
2. An Electricity Generator
3. A Heat Recovery System
4. A Control System

Formalised in 2018, Gas Malaysia Synergy Drive Sdn. Bhd. (GMSD) is a joint venture between Gas Malaysia Venture 1 Sdn. Bhd. and Sime Darby Energy Solutions Sdn. Bhd. (SDES), catering to the industrial sector via the supply of Combined Heat and Power (CHP).

Our customers can benefit from the CHP system without having to invest in the construction of the plant or its operations as it is fully managed by GMSD.

Established in 2024, GMGV currently focuses on producing and trading Compressed Biomethane and other green gases, including purchasing, selling, supplying, distributing and providing sustainable environmental certification subscriptions.

Our commitment to sustainability drives our efforts to innovate and implement environmentally friendly energy solutions.

Our Supply Concept

We cover the wide infrastructure for gas distribution, from identifying gas source, CNG conversion and transporting our product to the customer’s business premises.
