The 28kW Capstone Microturbine generator used at our Shah Alam head office
uses air bearings. This eliminates the need for lubricating oil and cooling water that usually demands
close attention.
The miroturbine is compact in design, sleek in terms of its noise emission and almost completely
vibration-free. It can be operated for a long period of time without any maintenance.
The microturbine is a regeneration cycle system with an enclosed regenerating unit. It is economical
in terms of fuel consumption yet highly efficient. Moreover, it accommodates various types of gases,
with the most significant being its super-low Nitrogen Oxide (NOx) operation through the use of a
Lean-Burn method.
The power-generator used is an ultra-high speed permanent-magnet type, which is directly coupled with
the turbine. It is connected to the grid via a reverse flow protector and does not require operation
at a constant speed. This provides an excellent part-load performance.
The recovery heat exchangers are used to channel out resultant thermal energy to power the absorption
chiller, water heater or steam boiler.
